Science Olympiad (Division C)

Science Olympiad (SciOly) is one of the largest nation-wide STEM competitions for high schoolers. Formatted similarly to a track meet, Science Olympiad features 23 topics, or "events", that include a rotation of different science and engineering-based challenges. These events extend beyond typical classroom curriculum, covering topics such as epidemiology, astronomy, and cryptography, and much more. From conducting experiments and building robots to solving physics problems and cracking codes, SciOly offers a unique and personalized experience for everyone.

At University High School, our SciOly program has, and continues to be one of the strongest in the state. We have been active for over two decades, and have placed within the top ten at the Southern California State Tournament every year since 2016. Most recently, during the 2025-26 season, we placed 2nd overall!

If any of this sounds exciting to you, join our email list! We send out regular updates about upcoming events, including interest meetings and tryouts. For more information on tryouts, specifically, you can also see our "Tryouts" page.
